Thank God the Democrats, long known for their tolerance and outreach to the Gay, Lesbian, Transgendered, Furry, Pedophile, Bizarro communities, won’t stoop to this sort of thing.

Bad Republicans
Teenagers are not children. The law says as much in almost all countries where age of consent is typically 14-16. The indidividual states as well have lower ages of consent than the federal govt uses to define a “minor” for internet/telephone contact. Even in DC, age of consent is 16.
In fact Foley did not commit a crime, because the age of consent in the jurisdiction is 16. Federal solicitation charges depend on the laws of the jurisdiction. There’s no indication that he offered to pay for sex. Sexual harassment is also an unlikely charge because the page in question was not in his emply.
Sorry chief, just because what he did wasn’t illegal, that doesn’t make him any less of a perv. Granted, the dems are turning this thing into a circus, but Foley is a sick SOB, and deserves to be run out of Congress on a rail.
fmragtops- Of course your right ,but holding these IMS for two years is also a crime.Protecting our youth is always the lefts mantra,but here politics was more important.May they all rot with, oh well you get the picture.
His abuse of his office, and his influence, to attempt to foster sexual relations with minors is pretty damned clear cut to me. I’m sure the parents of the pages would have something to say on the matter as well….something along the lines of “I’d like to spend ten minutes alone with that S.O.B.”
The Foley situation came up over dinner last night. I have two sons, 15 and 16, and they both agreed that any 52 year old pervert who tried to put moves on them would require extensive reconstructive surgery.
V the K, am I to presume that Barney Frank “put the move” on one of your sons? That would explain a lot.
