Top Rejected Titles For Brokeback Mountain

We here at The Nose On Your Face have been fascinated (in an inquisitively, yet securely heterosexual sort of way) by the Brokeback Mountain phenomenon since it’s inception.

Knowing our interest on the topic of all things Brokeback, our colleague Bob of Crazy Politico’s Rantings was kind enough to forward along his excellent list of rejected titles for that film.

They are as follows:

  • Prances With Wolves
  • Jeremiah’s Johnson
  • The Pleasure of the Sierra Padre
  • Butch Assidy & the Bundance Kid
  • How the West Was Hung
  • The Legend of the Long Ranger
  • Lonesome Doug
  • Hi, Plains Drifter!
  • The Magnificent Seven… Inches
  • Quickly Down Under
  • The Good, the Bad & the Fabulous
  • Silver-rod-owww!!

Upon receiving Bob’s list, we did a bit more research and were able to uncover these other rejected titles:

  • Two Tools For Mister Harrah
  • Why-it Hurt
  • Saddle On My Back Again
  • My Darling Clem, All Tied
  • Silly the Kid
  • The Sot Who Manned Liberty Valance
  • Unprotected
  • The Ox-Blow Incident
  • True Grip
  • The Buns of Katie’s Elder
  • The Gerbil Whisperer
