Famed Saudi Arabian funny-man Abdullah bin “Shecky” Muhammad opened up his controversial comedic tour of Israel last night in Tel Aviv to mixed reviews.

Muhammad’s “take-no-prisoners” brand of anti-Semitic comedy went over poorly with his live audience, but the pay-per-view version of the event that was available via Al-Jazeera turned out to be a huge success throughout the rest of the Middle East.   

“This is comedy?” live audience member Ariel Goldman asked rhetorically following the show. “This meshuginah has some nerve bringing this act to Israel.”

Across the border however, the take on the show was a bit different.

“That Muhammad is making me crack up always,” stated a pay-per-view watcher from Syria. “He is forever calling the Jews on their treachery.”

Following is a transcript of Muhammad’s act:

Muhammad: Good evening Tel Aviv (polite applause). Wow! What a great audience. Thank you, thank you. Excuse me sir, is that a suicide belt in your pocket or are you just happy to be seeing me? I kid you, I kid you.

Audience: (Stunned silence)

Muhammad: (Tapping microphone) Is this thing on? Hookay. Hey, are you ever noticing how the Jews are always trying to take all the Palestinians land? What is the deal with this?

Audience: (Low, angry grumbling)

Muhammad: Tough crowd… tough crowd. And why is it that they are always wearing those cloth saucers on their heads? Can they not afford full head scarves?

Audience: (Silence)

Muhammad: Take my goat. Please.

Audience: (Yet more silence)

Muhammad: Did you hear the one about the Jew, the American and the Australian who…

Audience member: You suck!

Muhammad: It is not I who am sucking, it is your people.

Audience (as one): (Booing) Get off the stage!

Muhammad: May the sand fleas of a thousand camels become embedded in the short hairs of your women!

Audience: (Booing loudly)

Muhammad: I’ll be here all weekend. Try the matzoh-ball soup.

Muhammad is scheduled to appear next on Wednesday night in Jerusalem. Show times are 8:00 pm and 10:00 pm.
