Kerry Blasts Bush’s “Cowboy Diplomacy” Urges “Brokeback Option” With Iran

While making an appearance on “Meet The Press” this past weekend, Senator John Kerry took the opportunity to blast President Bush for his refusal to take “the nuclear option” off of the table with regards to dealing with Iran’s increasingly hostile rhetoric. Kerry called Bush’s response to the Iranian threats “shoot from the hip, cowboy diplomacy” and opined “it’s a terrible option and everybody else knows it.”Ahmadinejad_3

“Senator Kerry wants it to be known that if he were president he would have handled things quite differently,” stated a Kerry spokesman. “He would likely have opted for ’shoot from the groin, Brokeback diplomacy’. Given Iranian President Ahmadinejad’s propensity for boy-on-boy tongue-kissies, and Senator Kerry’s well-born, metro-sexual appeal, we feel that a non-violent… at least in the classical sense of the term… agreement175_gay_kerry09_2 could have been reached.” 

Although he made it clear that Brokeback diplomacy would not be his initial approach to the Iranian problem, surprisingly President Bush did not completely rule it out.

“While we truly respect the fact that Senator Kerry has actually taken the time to think about, formulate and articulate a plan for handling this crisis, the President does not feel that the ‘Brokeback Option’ is the best way to handle the situation at this time,” stated a White House spokesman. “That being said, President Bush is still leaving this option on the table… or under the table… or in a highway rest stop… or wherever the hell you leave options like this. We will be sure to contact Senator Kerry and possibly Senator Edwards should we decide to go in that direction.”
