Embezzlement? We Ain’t Got No Stinkin’ Embezzlement

Radio host Al Franken recently proclaimed the topic of Air America Radio’s alleged theft of $875,000 from the Gloria Wise Boys & Girls Club as “boring“. He then went on to dismiss the calls for an investigation into former AAR chairman Evan Montvel-Cohen’s whereabouts as “partisan and pedestrian.”

Cohen has not been seen or heard from since he allegedly misappropriated the money in order to pay the “talent” at his former station. Conservative pundit David Alexander disagrees with at least part of this assertion.

‘The talent at Air America’?” Alexander asked rhetorically. “That’s like saying ‘the abstainers in the Kennedy Clan’ or ‘the bathed and employed masses at an anti-war protest’. Something stinks here and it’s not just the programming.”

Not surprisingly Franken, who is best known as the soft-spoken advice-dispensing therapist Stuart Smalley from Saturday Night Live, had a different take on the matter.

“It is so typical of conservatives to get themselves all riled up about things like this,” stated Franken. “They don’t seem to understand that as liberals, we intrinsically care more about the less fortunate than they do. So it naturally follows that we would never do anything to harm poor, dark skinned children. They should just stick to oppression and war-mongering and we’ll stick to helping minorities and lepers.”

Franken went on to ask a reporter if he would “be a dear and pass the Grey Poupon.”

    Embezzlement?

What about Ohio’s public employees’ retirement funds being shoveled off to Governor Taft’s political cronies to lose, um, invest in lost rare coins, highly risky hedge funds, etc…

The guy who made off with $200M from the deal donated enough to W to become a Ranger…

    Hey Mouse,
The difference is we as Republicans are not sticking up for a thief, or his acts.
A crook is a crook is a crook. Dem or Repub, throw their ass in jail, but for G*d’s sake, don’t defend and demean.

I don’t agree with a lot of what Bill O’Reilly says, but he uses an excellent saying that fits here:

“Don’t excuse bad behavior by pointing to other bad behavior.”

Also, I don’t remember coming out in favor of Ohio’s public employee retirement funds being “shoveled off.” Quite frankly, I don’t know much about it and don’t pretend to.

    Air Scamerica reading assignments

The moonbat-clogged Air America radio station is making quite a lot of headlines in the blogverse lately, which is more than can be said for the MSM.
